Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Intersectionality Fundamentals

In this session, participants will explore and understand different aspects of diversity and intersectionality and the role they play in creating a culture of inclusion. Participants will identify steps required to embark on a culture shift to make diversity and inclusion a core value.


Anti-Black Racism: Narratives in Race and Racism in Canada and its Impacts on the Black community

Participants will discuss anti-Black systemic racism and racial discrimination in Canada as a part of our contemporary history and examines how white privilege and systemic racism contribute to injustice and inequality in Canada.


Unpacking Race, Equity and Privilege

This workshop engages participants in discussion about the persistence of systemic barriers in the workplace and its impact on racialized employees and the organization. We will discuss strategies to become an anti-racist and encourage participants to reflect on how they can adopt and embed anti-racist practices and behaviours in their work.


Identifying and Addressing Microaggressions etc.

This workshop focuses on increasing understanding of the experiences and impact of racial microaggressions. We will discuss and develop strategies for responding to micro-aggressions whether aimed at you, another person and/or whether aimed towards racial bias or any other characteristics.


Understanding and Addressing Systemic Racism and its Impact

Participants will explore how systemic racism manifests within institutions and the impact of systemic racism on the lived realities of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities. We will identify tools and strategies that can be incorporated to dismantle systemic racism within institutions and workplaces.


Building a Culture of Allyship

Participants will learn best practices in allyship and identify ways of moving from a role as an actor in the status quo of oppressive systems and structures, to active allyship. They will also learn when to yield in allyship action.


Building a Welcoming and Equitable Workplace

Participants will identify their role in facilitating a more diverse and inclusive organization as well as steps and tools required to embed equity and inclusion strategy within their organization’s DNA.

Audience and Format

COVID-19 UPDATE: Training sessions are now delivered virtually (until further notice). 

Our sessions include interactive components of presentation, facilitated discussion, table-top exercises, case studies and anonymous polling.

For evaluation, participants may complete an end of course evaluation and receive a certificate of completion.

Recommended Number of Participants

Employee sessions: 25 to 50 participants.

Management team: 15 to 20 participants.

Executives/senior leaders: 8-15 participants.
